The Texans Expanding Access to Compassionate Healthcare for Opioid Use Disorder (TEACH OUD) initiative strives to decrease stigma and improve health and quality of life for people experiencing OUD. TEACH OUD promotes evidence-based, person-centered practices for OUD by providing group education, one-on-one coaching, and resources to healthcare professionals in Austin and Travis County. This TEACH OUD course will examine evidence-based, person-centered OUD practices. This course will focus on applying these practices in the primary care setting. See specific learning objectives below.
Learning Objectives
- Recognize the individual and societal impacts of opioid use disorder (OUD) with an emphasis on Texas and Travis County.
- Discuss evidence-based practices and effective treatment planning for OUD.
- Demonstrate person-centered, ethical approaches to patient care and patient communication.
- Identify opportunities to implement evidence-based practices in the primary care setting.
This CE activity consists of a video recording (MP4 format) and presentation slides (PDF format). CE credit will be awarded after the participant reviews the presentation video/slides and submits the online evaluation. The presentation video and course evaluation become accessible upon registering for the course (registration instructions are listed further down the page).
** Attendees of Live Presentations: Participants who attended a live presentation must register for the course, view any portions of the presentation not covered during the live training, then proceed with redeeming CE credit.
